Etymology

Dutch for "pointer" typifies his function as a director to Horn.

Commentary

Wijzer speaks English with Dutch grammer.

Wijzer seems to be connected to Xiphias thematically in a way I cannot place. They both have a disjointed manner of speech (albeit different). Also, a xiphias (swordfish) has a point and a wijzer is a point.
